This book contains a wealth of information on feeding and housing plus chapters on Amazons as Companion Parrots, Aviaries, Disease, Life in the Wild, Breeding, Health Care and Conservation.
It also contains detailed sections on each of nearly 30 species with descriptions of their unique characteristics and the authors experiences with that species.
This is one of the most comprehensive books on Amazon Parrots ever produced and a must for anyone with an interest in this species.
Endorsement:
"A Bible to anyone actively involved with Amazons [...] Despite its compactness, this is probably the most comprehensive volume on Amazon Parrots yet", Sam Whitbread, book review in Grapevine, Spring 2006.
Rosemary Low has never been without Amazons since obtaining a Salvin's in 1965. For more than six years, as curator of Palmitos Park, Gran Canaria, she had 19 species with a total of 26 forms in her care. Previously, as curator of Loro Parque, there were even more. Until 1995, she also kept and bred Amazons in her own aviaries. Now she is more concerned with their status and conservation in the wild.
