This new addition to Dave Gosney's Finding Birds series is based mostly on his observations in Bulgaria in 2019. It replaces his previous book, Finding Birds in Bulgaria, covering most of the same sites but now with much more detail and many extra sites too. As a result, this version has twice as much textual content and twice as many maps. It covers almost all the sites most frequently visited by birders travelling to Bulgaria including all the wetlands, headlands, forests and watchpoints along the Black Sea coast, plus inland sites such as Lake Srebarna and Rusenski Lom and the mountain areas around Kardzhali, Studen Kladenets and Madzharovo.
A few sites in the original book are not included here but the previously published details for those sites are still available online. As ever, all the sites are described in detail with the aid of GPS co-ordinates and Dave’s hand-drawn maps showing exactly where to go for all the birds you might be hoping to find in Bulgaria.
"[...] This guide was published in August, just before I went on a family holiday to Eastern Bulgaria in late August, staying near Cape Kaliakra. We used the book every day to explore the area and found it very useful. [...]"
