SIMBIOE, an Ecuadorean NGO devoted to the conservation of the great biodiversity and the main natural areas of Ecuador, has been carrying out a five-year program for the conservation of the magnificent Harpy Eagle. This book presents the personal experiences of the people involved in it along with the first relevant scientific results, many of them considered as new discoveries.
The book includes colour photographs of the Harpy Eagle and many other wild creatures that share its rainforests habitat. The cultural aspects of the local people who live in the tropical forests are also explained, especially their relationships with the eagle. It also explains how the project began, which aims to integrate these people in the conservation strategy of the eagle, as well as other aspects of the project: the use of satellite radio tags in eagle chicks, the results of the scientific work, how they work to obtain the collaboration of the local people, etc.
Cunsi Pindo contains a complete bibliography, and is accompanied by a CD with videos and additional material from the project.
