A Directory of Wetlands of International Importance

A Directory of Wetlands of International Importantce has traditionally been prepared for issue at each successive triennial meeting (COP) of the Contracting Parties to the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands. The Directories provide a narrative of each designated "Ramsar Site" which has been compiled from datasheets provided by the Contracting Parties. The Directory accounts provide a wide range of information covering such subjects as location, international and national importance, biodiversity, ecology, hydrological and physical features, land uses and tenure, adverse factors and conservation measures.
