The genus Geotrichum Link: Fr. and its teleomorphs are revised on the basis of morphology, physiology and DNA data. Twenty-three recognized taxa are described, six of which are new. Fourteen species are known with Dipodascus teleomorphs, while two are associated with Galactomyces teleomorphs. Morphological and physiological identification keys are given. A check-list of all 192 names described in Dipodascus, Endomyces and Geotrichum is provided.
