A complete transcription of the journal of botanist Allan Cunningham while visiting Norfolk Island in 1830, with modern commentary by the author. Allan Cunningham is known widely for his exploration of inland New South Wales, however, in 1830, his botanical investigations took him to the convict settlement of Norfolk Island. A keen observer, Cunningham documents his visit to Norfolk Island in his journal, published here in full for the first time. Described are not only the plants of the island but also the day to day activities of life on the island during the "second convict settlement".
