The Aquatic Emergence Trap is designed to float on the surface of a pond or other water body and will trap adult insects as they emerge from the water. This trap is ideal for estimating the population densities of insect species. Easy to assemble and highly portable, the trap can be taken out into the field and set up within minutes.
Measuring 650mm in diameter and 400mm in height, the trap is made from stainless steel with a fine knitted nylon mesh tent (white). A 500ml collecting bottle is situated at the apex of the trap and two large dome-shaped openings allow easy access to your catch. Loops at each of the corners allow string to be connected so that the trap can be pegged down in windy conditions (string and pegs not included).
