Arctiid Moths of India, Volume 1 covers the first consolidated work on the taxonomy of family Arctiidae from India. It deals with a total number of 181 Indian species under 76 genera of two subfamilies, Arctiinae (50 species and 26 genera) and Lithosiinae (131 species and 50 genera). This book is an outcome of extensive and intensive surveys conducted in the North West Himalayas, North East India and Western Ghats. For each of the included species, photographs and adults and external genitalia, first reference, diagnosis, distribution in India and larval host plants (wherever known) are provided. All the scattered information on the taxonomy of Indian Arctiidae is compiled in this work. It will lay a strong and sound foundation for future workers interested working on this group.
