After the volumes dedicated to South America and Asia, the World Biodiversity Association dedicates the fourth volume of the Memoirs on Biodiversity series to the biodiversity of the Mediterranean basin. This is an important scientific contribution that presents an updated catalogue of the 394 species of beetles of the superfamily Curculionoidea known to date from the islands of the Tuscan Archipelago. This work was possible thanks to the long-term collaboration between the Tuscan Archipelago National Park and the WBA naturalists who, with their field research, have contributed to the discovery of numerous species new to science, and who increase knowledge on the curculionioid beetles of this area. Since the end of the last century, in fact, the number of known species has almost doubled. The catalogue includes faunal, chorological, taxonomical and ecological annotations for each species. The work is also richly illustrated with 322 images of the most significant species, habitats, and catch techniques.
