The bird block is an attractive and flexible bird box which can be intergrated into new build structures or retrofitted externally with the addition of a fixing kit. The cast concrete it is constructed from is comprised of up to 75% recycled materials from the Cornish China Clay industry and has excellent thermal properties, as well as a clean and stylish finish. It is an ideal habitat for blue tits and coal tits, as well as a variety of other small birds. It can be cleaned and monitored via the maintanence panel on the front of the box.
The block should be situated at least 2 metres from the ground, ideally on a north or east facing wall and positioned away from doors, windows and vents to prevent disturbance. When built in to buildings, the surface is designed to fit flush to the wall.
