Media reviews

"This is an excellent, timely and considerably revised second edition (12 years after the first one) of the essential pocket photographic guide for birdwatchers and naturalists visiting the Falkland Islands. [...] Important changes from the first edition are improvements to images and layout, and to text (especially the status boxes, updated to the end of 2016). The most obvious changes, however, are to the sequence (and where relevant names and taxonomy) of species [...] This book will not help you identify most of the 130 or so vagrant species. However, it will be an invaluable guide for the 61 confirmed breeding species (55 resident, six summer visitors), nine possible breeders, 11 regular visitors and 12 fairly regular transient species. Moreover, a birdwatcher visiting for a week or so has a good chance of seeing a majority of these. [...] Weighing just 440 g, you won't know you have it and can't afford to be without it!"
– John Croxall, Ibis 161(4), October 2019
