About this product

This insect rearing cage from BugDorm consists of a frame of lightweight fibreglass poles which connect together using the provided splints. A mesh cage threads onto this frame to create a self-contained environment for breeding and maintaining insects. As the framework is situated on the outside of the cage, there are no small crevices for insects to get stuck in. Measuring 63cm in height, it is a suitable size for small potted plants.

The front and back panels of the cage are made from clear vinyl (BD4S2260 and BD4F2260 only) which allows the contents to be easily observed. The top and side panels are made from netting for ventilation. Choose between 680μm polyester mesh or 160μm fine nylon mesh. The nylon version is useful for aphids, parasitic wasps and thrips.

The front panel has a large zippered entrance which can be used to add or remove plants and insects. In the centre of this door is a 18cm sleeve opening for safe access with minimal risk of insect escape.
