Covering the Alps Maritimes, Var, Vaucluse and northern Provence, the suggested walks are of short and medium length. Each walk is fully described and illustrated with a sketch map and photographs. Local information of interest to the walker is thoroughly researched, and each walk captures the very essence and atmosphere of life in Provence. The walks are of short and medium length all with clear, accurate descriptions of the routes and detailed maps to accompany them. There is also practical information for the visitor as well as the historical and cultural background to the area. None of the walks in this book goes higher than 2 000 m and many of them are considerably lower level. They are generally within the capability of an averagely fit person and are graded Difficult, Medium or Easy.

Biography

Janette Norton has lived in France, near Geneva, for over 30 years. Her love of mountain walking dates from the time she was a guide in her twenties; the proximity of the Alps and Jura to her home has inspired her to continue her passion. Now her family has grown up, she has branched out to explore other areas of France.
