The simple and effective Water Beetle Collecting Sheet facilitates the sorting of water beetles from pond vegetation and is handmade in our UK based workshop. It has been designed specifically for this purpose in collaboration with the Bavarian State Collection of Zoology in Munich to ensure that beetles can be quickly sorted and the net will dry quickly. The fine (500μm) nylon mesh allows quick draining of water and the white mesh provides an ideal colour contrast to the dark water beetles, resulting in rapid and easy sampling. The net has an 11cm wide orange collar that tilts upwards acting as a lip to contain samples. The sheet is made entirely of fabric so can be dried and folded quickly, for ease of transport.
