Continuation of the series of Thesaurus Masdevalliarum which was published between 1983 and 1996 in twenty parts, and celebrated this popular orchid genera in an elephant folio format, itself an emulation of Florence Woodward's famous The Genus Masdevallia folios from the nineteenth century.
Each fascicle in this series contains life-size watercolour paintings of 15 or so species by Stig Dalström, translations of the German text by Fritz Hamer and later Rudolf Jenny, and distribution maps. The fascicles are gum-bound to facilitate binding with previous fascicles from the series or for splitting as individual art prints.
