After many years of preparation, the second edition of Sandro Pignatti's magnum opus Flora d'Italia, new, completely revised and substantially enlarged, is being published in four volumes. Volume 2 is expected in autumn 2017, and the remaining two volumes in late 2017. Volume 4 will contain a micro SD card with a database of more than 18,000 plant photographs arranged in an expert system for plant identification.
