This DVD shows wildlife film producer Paul Wetton's encounters with British wildlife in 2018. Having finished work in 2017 Paul had plenty of time to go out and film the wildlife of Britain in 2018. Early in the year he visited some local areas for Long-tailed Duck, Spotted Sandpiper, Cattle Egret, Kumlien's Gull and Black-throated Diver, whilst further afield a Penduline Tit was extremely confiding.
After a trip to Edinburgh in March he continued to look at the local wildlife with a few trips over to the east coast. A Green Heron was seen in Wales before hunting for dragonflies including Willow Emerald, Lesser Emperor and Southern Migrant Hawker. In the high summer, Paul spent many hours watching breeding Black-necked Grebes whilst Phalaropes were filmed in September before visiting Gravesend to watch Benny the Beluga in the Thames. The final long haul trip of the year was to Treeve Moor near Land's End to search for the Grey Catbird before a few more local haunts were visited to see the year out.
Paul and Helen also spent another week in the Cairngorm Mountains early in the year again searching for some of the Scottish rarities for another DVD that Paul is producing. A peak at some of the wildlife found is shown on this DVD. The entire DVD set was filmed in High Definition and widescreen using Pauls Canon XL-H1 and his new Canon SX60. It shows approximately 2 hours and 25 minutes of high quality uncompressed digital video with complete menu accessed using your DVD players remote.
