Biography

Douw Steyn has been collecting shells for the past 15 years in South Africa, and is well known among local shell collectors. A retired veterinary surgeon, he is senior author of the comprehensive book Marine Shells of Southern Africa. Together with his wife Elise, Douw Steyn has also authored Sea Shells of Jeffreys Bay, and Struik's Sasol First Field Guide to Shells of Southern Africa.
