Algal Flora of Jharkhand deals with the taxonomic treatment of 744 taxa, of which 306 belong to Chlorophyceae, 179 to Bacillariophyceae, 177 to Cyanophyceae, 50 to Euglenophyceae, 22 to Xanthophyceae, 2 to Rhodophyceae and 4 each to Chrystophyceae and Dinophyceae, each will original citation, description, habitat, association, field numbers, etc. Taxonomic keys, SEM images and photomicrographs under the compound microscope have also been provided for easy identification. The primary purpose of this endeavour is to facilitate a taxonomical framework, describe the diversity, and allow the identification of algal species of this region. This book provides the first systematic and comprehensive account of the algal flora of the country at a state level.
