Please note, this can also be bought as part of an 8-disc set covering the years 1998-2007.
1999 started quietly with just a handful of scare vagrants sprinkled around the county during winter and spring. With the arrival of autumn Cornwall and Scilly came into their own. Numerous species from all points of the compass were found within a few weeks during October and November.
The county claimed a high percentage of rare birds found throughout Britain during the autumn. We travelled extensively to capture the majority of these beautiful birds on tape and have presented this video in diary form so you can see the birding year unfold.
We have included our coverage of the annual Scillonian III pelagic focussing on seabirds in the Western Approaches and a wide selection of views of our beautiful and unique Cornish scenery.
Highlights include: Richard's Pipit, Terek Sandpiper, Purple Heron, Kentish Plover, Cory's Shearwater, Short-toed Eagle, Yellow-billed Cuckoo, Veery, Blue Rock Thrush and Red-flanked Bluetail.
Running time: 72 minutes. Full commentary throughout. Remastered from the original DV recording.
