Due to the geographical location of Cornwall, birding in the county is totally unpredictable. Every year has its special moments and the arrival of a rarity or two can make it memorable.
This year will stay in many a birder's memory for the influx of Laughing and Franklin's Gulls from North America brought to our shores by the remnants of Hurricane Rita.
Many other rarities visited the county and this DVD aims to show some of the highlights of the year. However, it is not just rarities that are featured in this film, birds your are likley to see in your garden are also included as well as sequences of butterflies and dragonflies and not to mention our beautiful Cornish scenery.
Highlights include: Waxwing, Lesser Spotted Woodpecker, Long-billed Dowitcher, Black-winged Stilt, Blackpoll Warbler and Sora Rail.
Running time: 74 minutes. Full commentary throughout.
