Cornwall is not noted for its abundance of breeding species, however, it is renowned for hosting rarities during the migration period. The unexpected arrival of a rarity or two sets a birder's pulse racing.
This year an influx of Night Heron's and Purple Heron's did just that. There was a host of other rare birds, the highlights being: 3 Kentish Plovers, Gull-billed and Roseate Terns, 2 Spotted Sandpipers, Least Sandpiper, and Red-eyed Vireo.
However, the story would not be complete without featuring the more common birds you are likely to see in the countryside, and to cap it off we've included sequences of butterflies and flowers as well as our beautiful Cornish Scenery.
Running time: 83 minutes. Full commentary throughout.
