About this book

Produced from a manuscript prepared by the late Torben Larsen and written in Torben's inimitable style. All taxonomic details have been thoroughly updated and the book includes the latest English names for the 279 species recorded from Botswana.

Based on Torben Larsen's findings over the years he lived in Botswana (1989-1992); he had pretty much completed the text in 2006. The manuscript was not illustrated however and there have been numerous taxonomic revisions in the interim period – it required considerable editing prior to publication and now includes text illustrations of set specimens and some of living butterflies.
