About this book

The first part of a seven-part series covering the true butterflies (superfamily Paplionidae). This volume is devoted to the Pieridae.

This book is completely different from the first edition of 1981. The text is totally new and the plates have been completely re-scanned and colour separated – you will not recognise them. Also there have been many new colour plates added. There are important essays on genetics and molecular biology. The taxonomy is completely new. There are two new genera.
