Earwigs feed mainly on aphids, spider mites and insect larvae and eggs, as well as many of the smaller pests. The tubes provide a daytime refuge for hundreds of earwigs, which at night emerge to devour vast quantities of aphids.
Installing the tubes couldn't be easier; simply place the tube on the cut off end of a branch or stick. They can be distributed among trees, bushes and shrubs, ideally positioned in a shady place about 5 to 10 cm off the ground. When positioning in vegetable beds, place the tube over a short stick about 3 to 5 cm above the ground. They require no maintenance or cleaning and can be left outdoors all year round.
