In Fasicle 76 a systematic revision of the Nosodendridae of Madagascar is presented and four new species are described.

Summary in French:
La révision systématique des Nosodendridae de Madagascar a abouti à la découverte de quatre nouvelles espèces : N. elongatum, N. slipinskii, N. Iatum et N. pauliani. Les espèces malgaches sont comparées a l’unique espèce africaine, N. africanum, et les affinités orientales des espèces malgaches sont suggérées.

La famille des Nosodendridae appartient à la superfamille des Dermestoidea parmi les Polyphaga. Les représentants de cette superfamille 0nt un corps compact, l’abdomen comprend cinq urites libres et visibles, le segment VIII portant des stigmates fonctionnels. La cavité procoxale est ouverte en arrière et les fémurs postérieurs sont protégés par la partie antérieure des hanches excavées. Tarses en général tous de cinq articles, non lobés et terminés par des griffes simples. Antennes en massue.

Les larves ont des tergites abdominaux sclérifiés et des sternites membraneux. Tête à labre libre et à 5 à 6 ocelles de chaque côté. Antennes de 3 articles. Tergite IX ne portant jamais d’urogomphes articulés.
