This new volume of the Flore de la Nouvelle-Calédonie, published jointly by the Paris National Museum of Natural History and the lnstitut de Recherche pour le Developpement (IRD, Volume 45 in their series Faune et Flore Tropicales), is an unprecedented monograph on the Cunoniaceae of New Caledonia. This family of about 350 species, with primarily a southern distribution, is particularly well represented in the territory, where 91 species have been identifiied, all endemic, distributed over seven genera: Codia, Cunonia, Geissois, Hooglandia, Pancheria, Spiraeanthemum, Weinmannia.

After a general presentation of the family, the description of each genus and species is accompanied by numerous and illustrated identification keys, distribution maps, and line drawings. The whole is enriched by numerous photographs.

Ce nouvel ouvrage de la Flore de Nouvelle-Calédonie, publié conjointement par le Muséum national d'Histoire naturelle et l’lnstitut de Recherche pour le Developpement (IRD), est une monographie sans précédent des Cunoniaceae de Nouvelle-Calédonie. Cette famille de près de 350 espèces, de repartition essentiellement australe, est particulièrement bien représentée sur le Territoire, où ont été recensées 91 espéces, toutes endémiques, réparties en sept genres: Codia, Cunonia, Geissois, Hooglandia, Pancheria, Spiraeanthemum, Weinmannia.

Après une présentation générale de la famille, la description de chaque genre et des espèces qu'il comporte est accompagnée de clés d'identification nombreuses et illustrées, de cartes de répartition, de dessins au trait. L'ensemble est enrichi par de nombreuses photographies.
