About this book

For the past year, Rachel has been working on location in woodland close to her studio. In a series of over 50 oil sketches on paper, she has managed to catch the light in the forest as it changes through the seasons. From autumnal oranges and reds to summer's vibrant yellows and lime greens. The woodland around Rachel's studio, including Kelling, Bayfield and Salthouse are alive with wildlife anytime of the year, including Rachel's favourite mammals, hares and deer. Silvery birches, towering beech and gnarled oaks all feature in this wonderful celebration of woodland.

As well the oil sketches, Rachel has produced a series of larger oils on canvas, distilling the information she learnt from her time in the forest.

Forest will appeal to anyone interested in art, woodland and nature.
