This sturdy hand net is for routine aquatic sampling, field centre use and sampling of rivers and streams. The large 300mm frame size is well suited for amphibian surveying and is also the standard kick net size for aquatic sampling in many European countries.
The net attaches to the frame via an inner brass ring which is held in place using plastic brackets and fixing screws. This means that the collar of the back is protected from abrasion when the net is used for kick sampling. The bags can also be easily changed for washing or replacement. Spare net bags are also available to purchase separately.
The frame is availabe in either wooden, aluimium or collapsable wooden sections.
The collapsable varitions can be broken down into two or three equal sized lengths for convenient transport or storage. The parts connect using a very robust metal thread which makes the net very strong when assembled. The net head is 300mm in width and, when assembled, the entire frame measures 1.49m in length.
The handle of the wooden frames is made from ash wood which makes it comfortable to hold, even in cold and wet conditions. It will also float if dropped into water.
The two part net frame breaks into sections of 79cm when disassembled and the three-part net frame breaks into sections of 53cm when disassembled
