This topical book for teachers of 7-13 year olds encourages children to become concerned about the environment in which travel and tourism takes place, and to develop sensitivity for the cultures, societies and individuals affected by tourism.
The book is full of stimulating learning activities that teachers can select from and use according to their needs. Activities include: analysing holiday brochures; role play as tourists and hosts; planning and organising educational visits to a railway station and an
airport; practical exercises on the positive and negative impacts of tourism; and a whole school approach to investigate values and attitudes to travel and tourism. All have been developed by teachers and trialled in primary school classrooms.
