This book constitutes an important and updated contribution to the knowledge of the mammals of Argentina, including a panorama of the systematics and distribution of all wild mammals currently recognized in the country. The volume consists of 365 pages, treating 386 species within 13 Orders, 47 Families and 181 genera. The treatment of each group includes the definition of species presently recognized, current taxonomy, and distributions of each species by province. Each species account includes information on the original citation, common name, type locality, distribution by province, eco-regions, general comments, and selected references.
