The Guangdong Nanling National Nature Reserve is situated in the central part of the Nanling Mountains in the northern part of Guangdong Province, China, and is bordered to the north by another national nature reserve, Mt. Mangshan in Hunan Province. It is the largest national nature reserve in Guangdong Province, ca. 58,400 hectare in area, and is also very famous for its well preserved primary forest. There are more than 30 mountain peaks over 1000 m in elevation, and the summit of Shikenkong, at 1902 m, is the highest in Guangdong Province.
Moths of Guangdong Nanling National Nature Reserve is a summary of a ten-year moths survey in the reserve, illustrating over 1200 species belonging to 27 families. It is prepared not only as a field guide for naturalists in southern China, but also in order to introduce the splendid, large biodiversity of moths in the Nanling Mountains. It should be stressed that the moths illustrated in this book are only a small part of those living in this area.
