This textbook and identification guide contains colour photos and black-and-white drawings. In this book, information on native palm trees in Argentina has been gathered, covering 11 species. For each tree, generalities referring especially to the characters of the native species are given, as well as phytogeographical data and photos of some details of taxonomic value. A classification scheme of the studied species is added and the subfamilies, tribes and subtribes to which they belong are recorded. It includes a dichotomous key to all the species that can be found in Argentina.

Se agrega un esquema de la clasificación de las especies estudiadas y se registran las subfamílias, tribus y subtribus la las que pertenecen. Incluye una clave dicotómica de todas las especies que viven en la Argentina.
