About this product

The Mile 40 thermal imaging monocular series from PIXFRA aims to provide a powerful thermal imaging experience at a reasonable price. The 400×300, 17µm, <35mK NETD thermal sensor is exceptionally sensitive for the price range while the 1280x960 viewfinder, adjustable dioptre that allows the image to tailored to the user's vision, and four different colour palettes (White Hot, Black Hot, Iron Red, and Alarm) all provide an exceptional viewing experience that can be tailored for conditions and viewer preference. Features such as a stadiametric viewfinder to gauge distances between the user and focal object, 6 hour battery life with options for an external power source to improve performance, and a built in video recorder add flexibility and utility to an already impressive unit. The M40 also comes with a built-in WiFi module that can be used to view its feed via a mobile phone, and can even be connected to multiple devices for group viewing.

The M40 thermal imager is lightweight, compact, and extremely durable, making it a great companion for the travelling naturalist. IP67 rated, it is entirely resistant to the ingress of particles such as dust and sand, can survive being immersed in water that is less than 1m deep for up to half an hour, and has been impact tested with a 2m drop test. Weighing in at less than 450g and able to operate between temperatures of -20℃ and +50℃, it should be well suited to any environment.

There are three models in the Mile M40 series.

Mile M40-B13 (13mm lens)

The M40-B13 features a 13mm f1.0 objective lens, a detection range of up to 508m, native magnification of 0.86x, and an impressive 24.0°x 2.6° field of view. Combined with the M40 series' <35mK NETD sensor, it provides sensitive thermal imaging with a wide FOV at an exception price point.

Mile M40-B19 (19mm lens)

The Mile M40 B-19's 19mm f1.0 objective lens provides a bright image with a 20.4°x 15.3° field of view, 1.26x native magnification, and 650m range.

Mile M40-B25 (25mm lens)

The 25mm f1.0 objective lens featured by the Mile M40-B25 provides an exceptional image for the price point. It has an impressive 900m range, 15.5°x11.6° field of view, and 1.66x native magnification, making it a fantastic choice for thermal imaging at a greater range than the other models in the series.
