Biography

Also known as the Urban Birder, author David Lindo is a writer, broadcaster, photographer, and educator. Through his broad array of work, his goals are to inspire people to engage with birds in urban environments and show how birding can be accessible to all. He was awarded the prestigious H H Bloomer Award 2021 from The Linnean Society of London for his work communicating the biological sciences to the masses. He is a proud Ambassador for Leica Birding, London Wildlife Trust, Birding For All, and is involved in many other nature conservation and wildlife organisations.

Claire McElfatrick's gorgeous illustrations can be seen in the previous DK titles in this series, The Magic and Mystery of Trees, The Book of Brilliant Bugs, and Earth's Incredible Oceans. Her enchanting, detailed artwork is woven in with photographs to create captivating images that help children learn and inspire their imagination.
