  • An excellent and very light pocket guide
By A 2 Mar 2018 Written for Paperback
I have quite a few entomological field guides but only a small number manage to be both portable and informative to the right level. This is one of those guides.
Clearly its relatively small size means that there cannot be room for every variation, generation and male/female for every species but as a compact guide with (obviously) excellent illustrations and some quite intuitive symbols to help with likely habitat, this is the book I always take, especially to Europe when weight restrictions apply to luggage! The book is 9.5 cm wide, 19.5 cm long and 1 cm deep.
So it cannot cover every base but what it does, it does very well.
