Biography
Valmik Thapar worked as a documentary film producer until 1980 and in 1981 received the President's Award for the Best Documentary Film of the Year. Since 1976 he has been obsessed with tigers, recording, filming and photographing these magnificent creatures in an attempt to document their behaviour fully. His previous books are With Tigers in the Wild, Tiger, Portrait of a Predator and Tigers; the Secret Life. He is also executive director of the Ranthambhore Foundation and a member of the IUCN's International Cat Group.
