The first of two volumes, The Vegetation of the Iberian Peninsula, Volume 1 provides updated and rigorous information about the vegetation of the Iberian Peninsula, an area of highest diversity in Europe and in the Mediterranean. The size and shape of the territory (a true peninsula) permits a treatment in a compact and coordinated way by a set of long experienced researchers. Volume 1 contains a section with general chapters including the climate, the general biogeography and the flora, and a second section with descriptions of nine regional sectors in which the peninsula and Balearic Islands have been divided.
