Taiwan is an island of sanctuary for a great diversity of orchids, not just the endemic species but many others found in neighboring countries. In this book the authors describe and illustrate all 428 native orchid taxa recorded up to the end of 2012. In addition they include notes on the history of their discoveries, origins of the Island’s orchids, basic morphology and other detailed information on each species, including conservation issues. Over 1700 colour photographs and dozens of realistic oil paintings are also included. Through this book it is hoped to share, with all orchid lovers and students around the world, the wonderful diversity and beauty of the orchid flora of Taiwan.
“An invaluable wealth of knowledge madeeven more inviting by stunning photographs and an equally attractive layout. A must-have addition for every orchid library!”
