Wild Flowers on the Edge explains the history, management and many uses of roadside verges and their importance for wildlife in North Yorkshire. An 88-page book with colour pictures on every page, it reveals how the treatment of verges affects both their visual appeal and their importance as a last refuge for diminishing bee populations and other pollinating insects as well as wild flower species. It illustrates more than 300 wild plants which grow on our roadsides. Wild Flowers on the Edge will be of interest to all road users; to property owners with a roadside frontage; and to anyone with concern for wildlife in today's countryside.
