This book provides a guide on how and where priority for conservation actions in Malaysia can be placed, and why. Malaysian Nature Society (MNS) has identified 55 Important Bird Areas (IBA's) for Malaysia, covering an approximate area of 944km2; 18 in Peninsular Malaysia, 14 in Sabah and 22 in Sarawak. This directory builds, expands on and also supports several national policies, namely the National Physical Plan (NPP), a statutory document which is Malaysia's first national blueprint for spatial planning, and the National Policy on Biological Diversity.
