The Electromagnetic Flow Meter provides flow measurements of exceptional accuracy and is suitable for use in clean water as well as dirty or difficult environments. Two sensor designs are available. The cyclindrical sensor has a larger sampling volume which means that turbulent flows have less of an effect. However, they need a larger depth of water for use. The flat sensor has a smaller sampling volume and is ideal for use in very shallow water, however, turbulent flows may be recorded as noisy readings.
Both meters are supplied with a control display unit which provides a real time display of the water speed, as well as average readings and standard deviation. Data is stored on the unit and can be downloaded to PC using the included cable. The system is designed for hand held use with the operator standing in the channel. A 1.5m wading rod (in three sections) is included and the sensor connects to the display unit via a three metre cable.
