The third edition of A Birder’s Handbook to Manipal documents 260 species of birds observed in Manipal since 2009 (versus 254 in the second edition). It is more concise and informative than the previous editions, covers more species and has up-to-date maps and documentation notes. This edition also comes with a laminated, waterproof, fold-out quick-ID guide for easy use in the field, as well as descriptions of bird sounds.
Ramit Singal is a 4th year engineering student from Manipal Institute of Technology of Manipal University. He has been taking his birds and birding seriously since 2006. He is an experienced birdwatcher regularly contributing to media articles, online blogs and websites, nationwide monitoring programmes, and conducts frequent birdwalks for new as well as old birders in Manipal.
