About this book

Language: Italian with bilingual summary in English and Italian

From the flap-text:

"The group taking part in the realization of the Mineralogical Inventory of Piedmont and the Aosta Valley shows in its work a considerable will to inspect the natural history and in particular the mineralogy of the area considered. Curiosity, that is often at the base of plenty of discoveries, is helped in this case by research and the reorganization of the information coming from the literature and from the memory of more or less expert researchers. The mass of data thus collected in the course of thirty years is really remarkable and it seems to us that the moment has arrived to divulge it: the volume Bibliografia Mineralogica del Piemonte e della Valle d'Aosta marks the first step of the publication of all the data we hold.

Two hundred and fifty years of Piedmontese mineralogy are here represented by seven thousand and two hundred records of books and papers in hundreds of specialized or amatorial journals published in all the world: only from the analysis of the titles it is possible to relate five hundred of the mineralogical species and varieties to over one thousand sites among the most famous and interesting ones of this region.

This too is a way to remember, thank and "honour" the over three thousand researchers and scholars who, with their work and care gave fame to Piedmontese mineralogy and, after all, enabled us to accomplish this work and present it to your attention."
