About this book

Language: Dutch

Darwin's botanical work was of great influence on our views on plants, but has largely been forgotten. When hearing the name Charles Darwin, most people think of On the Origin of Species, the book detailing his theory of evolution, or they think of the finches names after him. Only a few people will think of has a botanist. This is odd, as they spent half his career in the miraculous world of botany. In this richly illustrated account Norbert Peeters introduces the reader to Darwin's botanical insights and discoveries in an accessible manner. He places these in an evolutionary context and shows how they still affect the world of plant biology today.
