The Conservation Bat Box is made from durable, untreated FSC-certified timber the box is designed for multiple species and can be accessed via the hinged lid which is secured with a removable screw. The box features two vertical self-cleaning chambers with access ladders for the bats to grip easily.
Ideally several boxes should be fixed in sheltered locations around a tree facing different directions to provide the best choice of environment for the bats. Wooden boxes should not be painted or treated with any type of preservative, as these can harm the bats. The decorative finish of this box has been achieved with a water-based paint.
The box can be installed using the pre-drilled recycled plastic hanger to fix to a wall or tree. If siting on a tree it is recommended to use tree-friendly nails (not included).
