About this product

Please note that due to the size and shape of this box, additional shipping costs may apply. Please contact customer services for more information.

Swifts commonly breed in our towns and cities, occupying crevices and cavities in buildings. When buildings are renovated these breeding sites are often destroyed, and new buildings often do not contain such suitable habitats.

The Delta Shaped Swift Box is made from woodcrete and has two internal brood chambers. It comes with galvanised fixing brackets and delivery includes screws and wall plugs. Boxes are supplied in a natural grey colour but if required they can be painted using an air-permeable external wall paint. If needed it is very easy to gain access to the box, by simply raising the flap at the back. When occupied by swifts the box should not normally require cleaning.

This wedge-shaped box can be installed in a number of different ways. These include:

Inside buildings (e.g. on sills or in roof spaces):
The brackets supplied with the box can be used to attach it to the inside of buildings. This is suitable for buildings with existing ventilation apertures or other openings and is particularly effective in buildings of slab type construction and in insulated service rooms on top of buildings. The narrow entrance of the box can be placed inside the ventilation aperture or opening and any remaining gaps can be filled with a grille or mesh.

Outside of buildings (e.g. on flat roofs or under overhanging eaves):
The box can be attached on a low wall on the attic or cornice. As an alternative, it can also be attached to an external wall, but it may not then be possible to open the cleaning flap. (This is not a problem as, when occupied, the box will not need to be cleaned).

This box can be sited on all kinds of buildings and structures including residential, high rise and slab construction buildings, industrial plants, churches and structures on highways, as well as cliffs.
