This contribution deals with the identification of terebrantian Thysanoptera (thrips) of Europe and the Mediterranean. Geographically here included is the area of the Transcaucasus and the Asiatic part of Turkey. The key to genera comprises 103 genera in five families. Altogether 399 species are treated for which chorological and ecological data are given. The keys are illustrated by 771 informative line drawings.
