The European Council for the Conservation of Fungi (ECCF) mapping project was launched with the goal of producing European distribution maps of 51 species of macromycetes, and to bring together information on the ecology and status of each species in different countries. The publication of this book is the crowning achievement of several years of work, and is the result of a cooperation of almost 300 mycologists from 38 countries. For each species an annotated distribution map is given, with one or more colour photos.
