Trichogramma, which is a genus of minute wasps, have the characteristics of rich resources, wide distribution and obvious pest control effect. This volume of Fauna Sinica: Insecta draws on more than 45,000 Trichogramma specimens collected from 29 Chinese provinces (municipalities and autonomous regions) including Taiwan. More than 25,000 glass slide specimens have been prepared, and a total of 47 genera and 190 species of Trichogramma known in China have been identified and recorded, making the number of genera and species of Trichogramma known from China reach 52.81% and 19.75% of the known number in the world, respectively, and making China the country with the richest Trichogramma fauna known in the world today. This book is a systematic summary of the taxonomy of Trichogramma in China, except for a brief introduction of the Trichogramma fauna abroad. Additionally, information on the historical evolution, morphological characteristics, classification system, geographical distribution, bio-ecological characteristics, host range, application as biological pest control in agriculture and forestry, and the collection, preservation and preparation methods of specimens in taxonomic research. It also provides information on various known species. The genus and species are described in detail and 195 distribution maps are included.
